Background of DAV
Construction
Bio “Get your boots and work clothes on and get in the truck!” The precious few times I have spoken these words to my sons and daughters opens pages in my memory of a similar story. I grew up around construction. My father is a contractor, specializing in drywall, and from a young age I would tag along with him and help with the basics like collecting fallen nails, taping pipes and plugs and topping nails. I remember how I would get tired as he endlessly worked, “When are we going to go?”, “I’m hungry!”… “I’m thirsty!”… I would complain… “I thought you said you were almost done!”
I have been a Sonoma County resident since 1983. I attended two years at the Santa Rosa Junior College where I took general ed. classes, played baseball, and met my wife. We have eight children. It’s not often I take my own children to work (liability) with me like my father took me years ago, but I am grateful that he did. I worked for him during the summers and Holidays and learned how to tape and texture. I spent four years as a local 4 union member working on high-rise buildings in San Francisco and other commercial projects in Marin County as a taper. It was there that I became curious about plastering as I watched the old time plasterers finish walls smooth as glass with one coat of plaster. In 1989 I went to work for my father again where I began plastering Interior and exterior round walls, niches, rooms, patches and what ever else I could. I began my own business in 1998. I now specialize in three areas: stucco, interior plaster and drywall. I also do dry rot repair when needed. I am committed to customer satisfaction. Your project weather large or small is important. My goal is to do quality work and create value in your project. |
